The community of Moores Mill is an unincorporated and census-designated place located in the county of Madison, Alabama. At the time of the last major census, the total population was at about 5,600 people, and it is continuing to thrive today. Moores Mill is a part of the Hunstville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area and is a short drive away from Huntsville, Decatur, and Fayetteville to the north. The community is also located near several large bodies of water, including Wilson Lake, Wheeler Reservoir.

You can look for homes or apartments at any time of year, but spring or summer months are the best because it can sometimes get chilly in the winter in Moores Mill.
Neighborhoods
Weather here is nice and warm in the spring, and while winter months and the fall seasons tend to be cooler, they are usually quite pleasant. You can bring your own car to get around town or ride the bus from one of several stops.
City Center: Located right in the middle of the Moores Mill community, you can find a number of apartments, condos, and townhouses for rent here. Residents love easy access to Colonial Golf and Country Club, Sharon Johnston Park, and the Devil's Racetrack Park.
Mountain Brook: The Mountain Brook neighborhood can be found on the Eastern edge of the community and is the perfect spot to find single-family homes, apartments, condos, and townhouses for rent. Residents enjoy easy access to the Wade Mountain Nature Preserve, The Blevins Gap Nature Preserve, and the Monte Sano State Park.
Life in Moores Mill
There is no shortage of fun to be had in Moores Mill. Nature enthusiasts will have a blast at one of several nearby recreation areas including Monte Sano State Park, the Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge, the Burritt Nature Trails, Joe Wheeler State Park, William B. Bankhead National Forest, Lewis Smith Lake, Cedar Creek Reservoir, and Pickwick Lake. Bring your camera, your hiking boots, and your enjoyment for the great outdoors!
All of these beautiful outdoor spots can be the ideal place for a hike, a long bike ride, a picnic with the family, or to have a get together with friends. There are also a number of shops, restaurants, and cafes along the major street of Moores Mill Road. Golfers can play a round or two at the Moores Mill Golf Club, one of the fanciest spots for a nice dinner, wedding reception, or birthday party in Madison County. Residents and visitors alike can take part in a multitude of community events throughout the year at the community center, as well as at the Von Braun Center. A number of plays, concerts, and ballets can be found at the Center's North and East Halls.
Moores Mill is a wonderful place to enjoy easy access to major cities such as Decatur, Huntsville, and Dalton, among others, because it is one of the most centrally-located small communities in the state.
