Home to the Beebe Badgers, the town owes its whimsical name to the 18th-century American politician and real estate purveyor, Roswell Beebe, who was responsible for bringing the first railroad into town. In time, strawberry farming became popular, so much so that anyone who drove past Beebe through U.S. Highways 64 and 67 was given half a pint of strawberry ice cream. Imagine that!
A mere 32 miles northeast of Little Rock, the capital city of Arkansas, Beebe literally finds itself on the crossroads of a resurgent transportation hub, along the intersection of U.S. Highway 67/167 and U.S. Highway 64. Incorporated in 1875, the city center can still be classified as a suburban neighborhood based on its light population density of 7,315 (according to the 2010 census). View Beebe City Guide
