Sunny, endless skies look down on vistas of the Superstition Mountains. Stately palms line lovely Main Street in the downtown center. With a population of 16,964 residents in 2,492 households, there's plenty of room to stretch out here.
Eloy is a small town, which means finding an apartment for rent can be quite rare. You can find a rental, but you should start looking several months before you decide to move. Some lovely areas in Eloy are near Langley Sunshine Park neighborhood and Robson Ranch. Rents may be a little higher here, but the 2-3 bedroom apartment rentals may make it worthwhile for you. It's a little way out of town but nothing is very far away in this corner of Arizona. The Toltec area has a lot of character and is closer to the town center, and rents are often less expensive than in other areas. It's rare to find an all bills paid lease agreement so be prepared to pay your own utilities. While it's true that apartments may be difficult to locate now, future plans call for some major housing construction in Eloy over the next few years. Plan on bringing proof of employment when you begin your apartment rental search in Eloy as well as security deposit and first month's rent.
Most residents in Elroy are employed by the Corrections Corporation of America (CCA). CCA owns the four private incarceration stations located northeast of the city. There is little public transportation so occupants drive their own vehicles or carpool.
Sunday mornings find many folks at brunch at the Robson Ranch Grill. The restaurant dining room boasts beautiful mountain and desert panoramic views. Good food, nice wines and excellent service contribute to making this a favorite of both visitors and locals alike. The Bent Prop is another local favorite -- especially noted for its Bent Burger. In addition, town-dwellers fill their shopping, entertainment and dining needs in nearby, larger Casa Grande, just a few minutes away on I-10.
There's no lack of outside things to do in Elroy. Hiking and biking are favorite past-times and there are plenty of trails to choose from for both. For more adventurous souls, skydiving is a big past-time here. Known as the "Skydiving Capital of the World," Elroy has a professional skydiving school, complete with mammoth wind tunnels and instructors that teach acrobatic skydiving as well as the basics. Nightlife is pretty low-key here so most folks travel to Casa Grande for movie theaters and other entertainment.
