Immokalee, Florida, is a town with a population of around 24,154 according to the U.S. Census. If you like gators and hot, hot heat, this is the place for you! It's part of the Naples-Marco Island Metropolitan area and is located on the southern tip of Florida, right down on the water. It used to be swampland before they were drained and settled by the Calusa and then the Seminole Indians. Now it's one of the centers for tomato growing in the United States!

Town Center: This is the area northeast of the airport and the Seminole Casino. It's a very rural area and is quite cheap to live in, and there are a number of apartments available here. You'll find mostly single-family homes and small apartment buildings.

Corkscrew: This area includes the Pepper Ranch Preserve and Lake Trafford and is a pretty, green area to live in, with mostly single-family homes and apartments for rent.

E. Main Street / New Harvest Road: This area is more suburban feeling and is occupied mostly by renters in small apartment buildings. There's a high vacancy rate here.

Living in Immokalee

Life in Immokalee is pretty quiet. The Immokalee Airport is right nearby, so it's easy to get to and from the area. The Collier Area Transit provides local bus service to Naples and Marco Island, so a lot of people commute back and forth. There's also Florida State Road 29, which runs right through Immokalee. Living here, you'll find a number of restaurants, both fast food and small, independent eateries, as well as a number of basic grocery and convenience stores. It's not exactly a hub of action, but it is a peaceful and affordable place to live, if that's what you're looking for. Naples and Marco Island draw in a lot of tourists, so there are usually jobs to be found in those areas as well.
