Welcome to Bettendorf, IA, a city of golf courses, riverboats, and great views overlooking the Big Muddy. It's a great way to live, so stick around to learn all about getting a piece of the Bettendorf life.

Around here, the average apartment rental is surrounded by scenic creeks and greenbelt trails, open parks, golf courses, ice cream parlors and pizza places. Shopaholics are in luck as well, with plenty of little shopping centers where you can spend until you get dizzy. And, if you need a little nightlife every once in a while, then check out the Isle of Capri Casino or the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center. There's plenty to do around here, but there's not necessarily plenty to rent.

With just a handful of apartments for rent around the city, and a couple of retirement communities, the rental properties in Bettendorf are fairly limited. However, the variety is nice. There are inexpensive apartments for rent, mostly in the north side of town. There are high-dollar rentals around the golf courses. And, there are some student-oriented apartments around the Scott Community College. Typical rental rates range from $600 to $1,300 a month, though you can find even more expensive rentals in lavish retirement communities. Remember to factor the security deposit into your rental costs, which, around here, typically costs about the same amount as one month's rent.

In need of some amenities? Well, Bettendorf’s got those, too. Apartments here have the typical amenities, such as parking, a laundry room, pool, hot tub, workout room, and a clubhouse. There are also some unique extras, such as a TV lounge, tanning bed, media room, DVD library, leash-free pet park, and sometimes even a pet spa.

As you can see, with amenities such as pet parks and pet spas, Bettendorf is more than just a little pet friendly. And, if you are dog owner, you’ve just discovered one of the most dog friendly cities for a renter to live. Rental properties accept most pets, even large dog breeds.

When you look in each direction and see nothing but green parks, ice cream parlors, and scenic riverfront, you’ll quickly realize that this is a nice area.

Sold on Bettendorf yet? We sure hope so. Have a fun apartment hunt, we Bet-tendorf you'll like it.

What to keep in mind when looking for apartments with hardwood floors in Bettendorf, IA

Scoring an apartment with hardwood floors can be a big win for Bettendorf renters. They`re typically a beautiful addition to your space. They’re also easier to clean and sweep, particularly if you have pets.

However, there are some downsides. Hardwood floors carry sounds. They can also make your apartment noisy for your roommates and downstairs neighbors.

Ask the landlord or property manager about the hardwood floors before signing a lease. Are they actually hardwood or a popular composite alternative? The latter is probably easier to clean and care for than the real thing.

It’s also important to ask about who’s responsible for any damage to the floors and what that entails. Your security deposit could take a hit from scratches, dents, and other damage.

Consider the type of climate you live in. Hardwood floors typically don’t fare well in damp climates full of moisture. Stains and buckling are common in hardwood floors after rain flooding or excessive moisture.

However, hardwood floors can be ideal for dry climates or sunny areas for renters who love the way they look.
