Huntley is one of Chicago's historical suburbs. Located about 50 miles northwest of the city, Huntley is close enough to benefit from being a suburb of Chicago without dealing with much of the traffic and congestion that some of the closer suburbs have to encounter. The city of Huntley has historically pursued a policy of aggressive planning and expanding the city's residential and commercial zones. The result is a city that is easy to navigate, and one that has balanced historical neighborhoods with new developments.
Right now is a great time to consider moving to Huntley. There are a number of all utilities paid condos for rent in Huntley, and the recent influx of available units makes it pretty easy to find an apartment on relatively short notice. The housing market in Huntley has declined gradually, but it has remained fairly stable since the housing crash of 2008, so landlords with apartment rentals are likely to be somewhat lenient on credit and rental history checks.
One thing to keep in mind before moving to Huntley is that the average daily low is below freezing for almost half of the year, so be sure to begin your search or move in before the winter comes along. But if you're a snow bunny, Huntley welcomes you with open arms!
Huntley is a city of distinct neighborhoods, thanks in large part to a citywide decision to engineer growth. There are at least 17 different neighborhoods in Huntley. Some of the most popular neighborhoods include:
Downtown Huntley: Downtown Huntley is the place to go if you're looking for historical, and primarily Victorian, architecture. Many of the buildings in this part of town are more than 100 years old.
Huntley Meadows: This is a newer part of the city, with a large number of 3 bedroom houses for rent, as well as plenty of well-maintained apartment complexes.
Del Webb's Sun City: Del Webb is one of the master-planned communities in Huntley. The community is connected to an 18-hole golf course and several public recreational areas.
Talamore: Talamore is another master-planned neighborhood. Talamore is one of the rapidly-growing neighborhoods in Huntley, and is perfect for anyone looking for an active and growing community.
Residents of Huntley have the benefit of only being about an hour from the city of Chicago, and many take advantage of everything that city has to offer. For those who prefer to stay closer to home, Huntley has a great deal to offer on its own. Huntley has a number of annual festivals, including Summerfest, Fall Fest, and the Huntley Town Picnic.
