Neighborhoods in Sugar Grove
There's a lot going on in Sugar Grove, but it's still a small town! Here are the only two distinct neighborhoods that you'll find here.
Prestbury: This part of town is near the Aurora West County Forest Preserve and the Bliss Creek Golf Course. It's filled with a lot of meandering streets, and rents here tend to be more expensive than other areas of town.
Village Center: This is the southern part of town and it has a very suburban feel to it. It's where Jericho Lake Park is located.
Living in Sugar Grove
Sugar Grove has all the wonder of being a Chicago suburb, without the hassle of being a Chicago suburb. It's set far enough to the east that parts of it feel almost rural, even though it will only take you just over an hour to get to downtown Chicago!
It's also super close to the Aurora West Forest Preserve, which is a 716-acre property that's was part of the historical "Sugar Grove" when Kane County first began. It's now a multi-purpose trail that contains prairie, marsh and woodland communities and makes for a great place to visit and walk or hike.
You'll find plenty of place to eat if you have a hankering to dine out. In the center of town, near where Route 30 and Route 47 intersect, there's the All American BBQ, which has delicious pulled pork and Italian beef sandwiches. There's also the Fireside Grille and Genoa Pizza. Closer to the Forest Preserve is the Open Range Southwest Grill on Hankes Road, which the locals love.
The Air Classics Museum on Route 30 is a great place to learn more about the area airport -- you can even get a tour! If you start feeling like you need a little more big city action in your life, just head to Chicago! A lot of people drive in to the Windy City for work and you might be one of them. But even if you don't work downtown, you can always head in on the weekend to catch a baseball game or a live theater show. There are dozens of museums, thousands of amazing restaurants and bars and so many other wonderful things to see and do in Chicago. Shopping downtown is fantastic -- you can head to Water Tower Place or the Atrium Mall. If you don't want to drive that far, you can stop at Oakbrook in order to check out the great shopping they have there!
