Huntingburg is referred to as the "Hollywood of the Midwest" due to the number of movies that have been filmed at League Stadium, the previous home to the Dubois County Dragons baseball team.
Huntingburg City is a quaint little place with a particularly interesting historic downtown area. You don't come to Huntingburg for the buzz of the nightlife, but if you want to get away from the extremes in life, then this little city is where it's at.
Moving to Huntingburg
Huntingburg is not exactly a thriving little place in terms of the number of available rental properties. All the same, there's enough choice here to cater to pretty much everyone's taste, though if you are intent on finding a condo for rent or a rental apartment, you may be rather hard-pressed.
What to Bring
When you're ready to sign the contract, you'll need to produce some proof of your ID in addition to proof of your current income. The landlord will probably request that you pay a months rental in advance, as well as the equivalent of a months rental in the form of a deposit. Bringing a few character references with you is a good idea and it's possible that you will have to undergo a credit check as by way of ensuring that your finances are in good order.
How Long Will it Take?
Don't be tempted to leave your search to the very last week prior to your intended date for relocation. Instead, aim to begin looking with about five weeks to go. That way, you'll avoid any unnecessary last minute stressing.
Huntingburg Neighborhoods
The good news is that the cost of living in general in Huntingburg is less than the average for the rest of the country. And although average rental prices are higher than the state's average, they are still substantially below the national average.
South Lake Charles Drive: Located on the eastern shore of Huntingburg Lake, home rentals in South Lake Charles Dr offer the opportunity to gain a beautiful lakeside seating. Living in Huntingburg
Though Huntingburg is not exactly at the forefront for things to see and do, there are a number of festivals that take place in Huntingburg's historic downtown throughout the year. The Garden Gate Jazz, Art, Wine and Craft Beer Festival takes place in April of each year and involves pretty much what it says on the tin. So if you want to get tanked up whilst chilling out to the sound of some live jazz music, then you know exactly where you should go. The Huntingburg Herbstfest takes place towards the latter part of September at Huntingburg City Park and features all forms of weird and wonderful activities such as pumpkin launches, outhouse racing and mud wrestling. If that's all a bit too adventurous for you, not to worry. There is a beer garden available, so instead of partaking in the mud wrestling event, you can just sit and enjoy a few cool ones as the world merrily passes you by. If you're looking for ways to soak up all that beer together with some fine nosh, then check out some of the eateries in town. The Old School Cafe on East 4th St may conjure up memories of stodgy, rather unhealthy food from days gone by, but no. Instead, you'll be treated to quality American-style cuisine at a thoroughly reasonable price. The fascinatingly named Fat and Sassy on North Jackson St in the heart of downtown Huntingburg, can be described as a uniquely-styled deli and service always comes with a smile.
