The city of Flatwoods is found in Greenup County, Kentucky, and is a suburb of Ashland just down the Ohio River. There are no huge urban areas close by, but several other small cities like Ashland, Ironton, and Ironville about five miles to the south. Living in Flatwoods

Flatwoods has a low crime rate and is well situated on the Ohio River, with a couple of national forests nearby for lovers of the outdoors. Other major urban areas, in particular big cities, aren't really found nearby, but there are enough smaller cities and towns to give the entire region a bit of variety.

There are plenty of restaurants and bars down Argillite Road -- including Giovanni's Pizza and Great Taste Chinese Buffet -- to give your taste buds some variety, and while transport via bus through the city is limited, there are plenty of state routes running up and down the Ohio River, with Interstate 64 going east and west about 15 miles south.
