There are quite a few studio apartments and apartment homes that are adjoined to other units if that is your cup of tea. But that's why they take it slow down here -- you'll learn all about it when you move here.
In order to move here, you're going to need a little extra time to look around and the standard documents you need to rent a place anywhere. Be prepared to show your prospective landlord a copy of your ID, your credit report, bank statements, pay stubs, letter of employment, references, rental application, etc. in order to secure the rental. They might be a little more lax down here than they are in big cities, but you're better off playing it safe. Be prepared to put down a security deposit along with your first months' rent, too! It helps to carry your checkbook with you when you go to check up on some apartments.
