Welcome to Woodmere
The new Community Center will be nestled between the existing trees on the current site of the northernmost shelter of the Woodmere Park on Edgewood Street. The said shelter will be moved to another location in the park grounds to make way for the center. The building in progress is said to be used not only by Woodmere residents but also by the surrounding community and will be a hub for community events and services, health fairs, training events, meetings and classes. The Community Center is also said to be a location that would be rented out for private social gatherings and events such as weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties and rehearsal dinners. This 3,400-square-foot building will include a covered entrance, lobby, dominated by a 1,000 square foot assembly hall, along with a 375 square foot conference room, an administration office, kitchen and an outdoor space with a large rear covered pavilion. This work in progress is already close to its finish line and is definitely something to look forward to not only for the town citizens, neighboring communities but also for possible future residents.
Recreation in Woodmere
A community park is available for the residents, named and designated for the neighborhood, Woodmere Park has a walking track, surrounded by mature trees for the residents recreational activities. Most residents in Woodmere live in areas where they have to drive in their own car to go around the town. The others live in areas strategically located such that the residents may take the train, bus, use a bike or even walk to go around the town.
