It's farm country, with agriculture being the driving force in the area's economy. Lake Huron County Airport sits at the south of town and provides limited aviation services. It's a short drive to the shores of either Saginaw Bay or Lake Huron, and just over 100 miles north of Detroit. It's classic small-town Americana.
