So, what's to do to keep busy in Iron Mountain? As mentioned, the ski jump at Pine Mountain Ski Resort is certainly not for the feint-of-heart. If you opt to take that on, be it at your peril! Nevertheless, there are also some eighteen alpine skiing trails for those who like to build up their thigh muscles, and there's a half-pipe and a terrain park for the snowboarding enthusiasts.
If you head on up to Veterans Park at the top, you'll be treated to some excellent vistas over the surrounding lands and you can sit down for a picnic if you're well prepared and feel the munchies coming on.
The WWII Glider and Military Museum on Kent St is the site where they previously manufactured gliders that were renowned for their utilization during the D-Day landings. The museum is one of the few places where you'll actually be able to witness a complete glider, so don't forget to take the camera along.
Timberstone Golf Course at One Timberstone Drive offers a 5-star course, which is extremely playable, but at the same time, poses quite a challenge, even to the more accomplished golfer. Then, once you've completed the hard work, stop off at the clubhouse for a bite to eat and a refreshing drink and you'll no doubt be ship-shape for a further 18 holes!
