Minnesota is known as the Land of 10,000 Lakes. At first glance Minnetrista may appear to be home to at least several thousand of them. At times it's hard to tell if there's more coastline or solid land. Between the bays, lakes and rivers there's plenty enough water sport to go around during the relatively short but active summers. Life in Minnesota and Minnetrista subsequently is one of agricultural dependence and opposing views on the level of development that should be achieved in the area. The winters are intense, with frequent sub zero temperatures and a heavy amount of snowfall. The shoulder seasons are close to ideal, with an abundant variety of scenery to take in as the seasons change.
When preparing to move to Minnetrista allow yourself time to find appropriate housing. This process can take anywhere from three to six weeks depending on the current market. You'll need to decide what kind of area you want to stay in. Due to the politics of the region urban and suburban areas have a harsher division than a lot of other cities. The struggle between development and retention of the area's natural wonders has provided a few distinct neighborhood types to choose from. Working Man or Farm Land? Employment is a consideration to take into account before arriving in Minnetrista. The majority of the city is dominated by farmland. In fact whatever isn't lake water is probably wheat fields and cattle ranches. If you're not accustomed to bailing hay and planting seeds, then it's probably best to check out nearby towns like Waconia, Victoria and Chanhassen to secure employment. On the other hand if you've always wanted to learn how to milk a cow the proper way, your opportunity has arrived! The largest development within the city limits, which is mostly residential is actually a different settlement altogether. St. Bonafacius operates as its own independent settlement contained within Minnetrista's boundaries and qualifies as the home address for more than a few of the commuters seen on the city's roads and in it's shopping centers. Most residents congregate to the east along the numerous lakeshores, enjoying the comfortable scenic surroundings and slightly more expensive housing. Getting On With The Locals When you arrive, be prepared to provide a number of references and proof of income. Wherever you end up there's likely going to be a shortage on hi rise apartments and less of a traditional application process. Expect a more informal approach to a lot of business matters. The good side is that it can be easier to get along with a landlord you know personally. The down side is that it can sometimes take longer to get things done.
As mentioned before the majority of this area consists of farmland and undeveloped shorelines. Which is absolutely great for getting back in touch with nature, supporting America's agricultural needs and providing a clean wholesome environment to reside in. The tricky part is that there isn't a lot of public transit available, there's no abundance of apartments for rent and things like subdivisions and cul de sacs are a rare find. As would be expected in this "every man's" paradise that means distinctions of neighborhoods by name or address are also rare. The three major areas of residential development can be easily located by finding the central point they surround. In this case Halsted Bay, the separatist area of St. Bonafacius and Burl Oaks Golf Club. Halsted Bay: Halsted Bay is the gateway to the seemingly endless selection of waterways east of Minnetrista. Along it's shorelines lies proof that not all the inhabitants of the city are content surrounded by acres of crop fields. Here every home comes complete with its very own dock and/or boathouse. Some neighborhoods throw block parties and grill out on patios during the summer. These neighbors are more likely to be found on a completely different kind of deck, the kind that floats. If your apartment search brings you here, you can likely locate a couple decent 3 bedroom apartments, or perhaps even an entire house. St. Bonafacius: While it's true that St. Bonafacius maintains a stark difference of appearance from the city it inhabits, some of the prosperity could not have helped but pass beyond its borders. Surrounding the oddly placed community are several strips of residential development that lie technically within Minnetrista territory. Around the square of property designated for St. Bonaficius is an outcropping on curvy intersecting roads with remarkably well spaced and planned subdivisions. For those who crave order and familiarity, this neighborhood will appeal to the metrophile in all of us who appreciate the convenience of planned development. Burl Oaks Golf Club: The Burl Oaks area sits directly between Jennings Bay and the sprawling greens of Burl Oaks Golf Club that marks Minnetrista's northern border. Just as the location implies so the development follows. A small spattering of modern homes spread across a green countryside gives way to a well developed cluster of shoreline homes along the banks of Painter Creek. Every type of home situation imaginable presents itself within a few mile square radius. From country living to modern luxury it can be had with only a short distance between one person's dream home and another's.
Cities like Minnestrista are a reminder of our nation's heritage. Commerce has left its mark, providing residents with all the modern conveniences but life still retains the character of small towns from the past when the entire US was not far removed from how Minnestrista is today. As humble and wholesome as apple pie and twice as classic the little town has a lot to offer. The Minnetrista Farmer's Market is the place to be on weekends. Serving up local offerings and homemade treats the flavor of the community comes to light in this setting. Maintaining the keep it simple attitude Carbone's Pizzeria doesn't have a cover charge but it does have quite a selection of imported and locally brewed beers to choose from. For some fresh air Giddy Up Stables and others like it will put a hitch back in your step fairly quick while Burl Oaks will provide an opportunity to work on that back swing. Small but active and proud of their heritage Minnestristans love a good party. There are several annual events including the Summer Stage, an outdoor festival held every July concluding with fireworks and lively music. Can't find it in the city? Pile in the truck and head down the road. Waconia is the closest and, probably, the most popular stop for locals. If you want to catch the game in Waconia head on down to Hoppers for some wings and brews, just make sure you know when the home team is playing.
