Just south of St. Louis, Missouri is the small town of Pevely. With a town population of just over 5,500 and covering a grand total of 4.69 square miles, this rural community is just the spot if you're looking for a restful setting that's close to the big city. Though Pevely is the industrial hub of Jefferson County, don't let that cool your jets. Check out Pevely's many quality homes for rent. Jump in your car and take a cruise through Pevely to find the house rental of your dreams.
You've decided to make Pevely your next home. First things first: Make sure all your ducks are in a row. If you don't have any ducks, make sure your security deposit, rental application and credit check are all in good order and ready to hand over to your new landlord or manager.
Some apartments may require a pet deposit, just in case Fluffy gets frisky with the carpet. After you've taken care of all the fine details and your signature is on the lease, you're ready to start packing your bags (or boxes) and loading your car. If you're a do-it-yourself-er, you might enjoy having a few friends over to help you pack and move. If you've got the money to spend and you'd rather relax while someone else moves your stuff, you can hire a moving company.
You'll have no trouble finding a neighborhood to suit your active lifestyle in Pevely. In this small town, there are two main neighborhoods to crow about:
Horine: This neighborhood is located on the west side of town and is mostly comprised of small to medium-sized houses and mobile homes, though you can find a nice studio apartment for rent for a decent price. This is considered a rural neighborhood, so it's the place to be if you like space, and you'll find the Villa Antonio Winery on the neighborhood's west side.
City Center: This neighborhood is to the east and has even more reasonably priced rental apartments. Considered a suburban area, it's home to the Teamster's Lake and the Governor Daniel Dunklin's Grave Historic Site. This will be the better neighborhood to find a one-bedroom apartment for rent, and you'll enjoy a reasonable rental price as well. Make sure you bring your car when you move. Pevely is a commuter town, but you might be able to talk one of your friendly new neighbors into a carpool with you.
With its proximity to St. Louis and the I-55 corridor, Pevely's never far from a good time. There are plentiful green spaces to satisfy your inner outdoors person, such as the Stacey Reece Veteran's Memorial Park, site of the city's "Homecoming Festival" or Ellis Bage Park, where you can have a picnic or enjoy a game of basketball. If you're worried about dangerous springtime storms, you can sign up for the Code Red alert system, which calls your personal phone when a storm threatens to disturb the peace. Oh, and if you dislike mosquitoes, Pevely's got you covered with its summertime pest control program. Hungry? Go get some grub at one of America's favorite fast food restaurants. You'll find all the major ones here, but if you want to enjoy your meal at a unique venue with one-of-a-kind menu options, you can try Main Street Barbecue off of Highway Z or Pogolino's Pizza Place on East Main Street. If you're looking for some home town excitement, you can enjoy the annual "Homecoming Festival" in August. It's a great opportunity to get out and meet some of your fellow residents. You should go. There will be pie.
