Scottish Highlanders established the community of Blue's Crossing in the 1850s. Blue has nothing to do with a sour mood -- it is reference to Malcolm Blue, a farm owner, whose farmhouse remains a major landmark in what is the town of Aberdeen.
Aberdeen is a historic town in the Sandhills of North Carolina in Moore County with a population of 6,350 at the 2010 census. Finding something to brag about isn't hard in this small town, which is located on the western edge of Fort Bragg Army Base and Fayetteville, roughly 80 miles from both Charlotte and Raleigh. The Aberdeen area is a golf-lover's haven, with 43 top golf courses -- including Pinehurst approximately 10 miles to the northwest -- to swing the day away. View Aberdeen City Guide
