The area is very quiet given it's location, and the view from the summit over the borough and beyond is excellent and well worth the climb. Other green spaces in the area include Rampano Mountain State Forest and Campgaw Mountain Reservation.
After expending all that energy on the hike at High Mountain Park, perhaps it's time for a good meal. In which case, The Chef's Table is arguably the perfect choice, providing you have something of a penchant for French cuisine. Prior to your arrival at this establishment, do be sure to make a reservation, as otherwise you may have to opt for a take away. Try the French onion soup with a freshly baked baguette for the entr̩e as traditional French food doesn't get much better than this! If you'd prefer to chomp on Chinese instead, then check out Golden Dynasty Restaurant where the food is said to be "golden" too. Once again, it's almost imperative to make a reservation at this dining establishment so you'll not be left disappointed. Although it's a Chinese restaurant, the chef also specializes in Japanese dishes, thus irrespective of anything else, it's Asian all the way at the Golden Dynasty! The Original Franklin Lakes Pizza & Restaurant, as you'd expect, specializes in pizza, pasta and desserts.
When it comes to shopping, you'll have to head over to Urban Farms Shopping Center, where you'll find Something Sophisticated and the Toy Box Store. To the east of town, you have the Wykoff Shopping Center, and north is Wayne Hill Mall.
