Need some renting tips to get you in the Chillicothe swing of things? Well, you've found the perfect little city guide here. We've got all the info you need to rent in Chillicothe and live as happy as a country butterfly. Let’s get started!
Around here, you can enjoy the quiet ease and charm of country life with all the conveniences of the big city. Education, culture, art, country clubs, and the great outdoors are all at your doorstep in this micropolis. Chillicothe has been a cultural center for centuries, with a rich theatre history full of drama, comedy, farce, minstrel shows, and operas at the Masonic Opera House (aka the Majestic Theater). There are plenty of great things going on around here, with fairs, festivals, sports, and campus events to keep things interesting. The entire city is less than 10 square miles, and with all the bike paths, hiking trails, and beautiful parks you can travel all around town without wasting a single drop of gas. Yes, it's a charmed life, and it can be had at a very low price.
Cheap apartments are much more common than high-dollar homes. Typically, rental rates range from $275 to $1,000, with a few pricier rental homes from time to time. An efficiency rents for about $300, one bedroom apartments rent for $400-$500, and one to two bedroom apartments or townhomes can cost anywhere from $500-$1,000. Rental homes are all over the place, with "cozy" rental homes in the $500-$600 range and nice, big country homes costing around $900.
Renting in Chillicothe apartments is all about community extras. Amenities such as laundry facilities, swimming pools, playgrounds, tennis courts, and clubhouses make apartment life pretty tempting. However, you can also find some rental homes with great extras such as a washer and dryer or a nice, big fenced-in yard for your dog to play.
Speaking of canines, there are quite a few pet-friendly apartments and rental homes in Chillicothe. However, many apartments don't accept dogs over 40 lbs. Even dogs over 20 lbs. may have a hard time gaining acceptance around here. And, if you're lucky enough to snag a pet-friendly pad, then expect to pay a $100-$200 pet fee as well as a $20- $30 in pet rent.
So, that's the Chillicothe way of life these days. Best of luck on the rental hunt!
