Former baseball player and manager Pete Rose attended high school near here, and this community carries itself with the same sort of passion that Charlie Hustle did on the ball field.
Technically a community of Cincinnati, Covedale is home to 6,447 people. Moving to Covedale
Finding property rentals in Covedale can be tricky. The neighborhood, due to its relative affordability, desirable lifestyle, and proximity to downtown Cincinnati, is on many renters' radar. Hence, it's vital to study Covedale's market and learn some tricks to getting a pad.
Where Are the Openings?
You may be asking yourself this as you eat Cincinnati chili. There are a total of over 2,500 units in the area, which satisfies the demand but leaves little leftover. There are ways to overcome this issue, even despite the rental-occupancy rate of under 10%. Follow these points:
1. Come when school ends. With most schools in session from late August through early June, many folks choose to move during summer vacation. If you make your move then, you'll quickly see that there are more open listings than during other times.
2. Search early. Start hunting for house and apartment rentals at least one month before your planned arrival in Covedale. More time equals a greater chance of finding what you want. However, sometimes personal obligations tie people's hands. If that's the case, be flexible with your housing selection; you certainly will find something, but it may not be your dream nest.
3. Don't be choosy. If you come strictly fishing for a one bedroom apartment, you may come up dry as 94.6% of homes are detached houses. You're not going to find an all utilities paid home in an apartment community. In Covedale, you are pretty much limited to houses and duplexes. If you need something small, know the area boasts many houses that don't even exceed 1,000 square feet.
Is It in Move-In Shape?
While most properties are just fine, some homes in Covedale need repairs. As a renter moving here, it's vital that you note even the most minor of kinks to the landlord. These issues should be fixed before you sign the agreement. You don't want to discover your toilet causes more flooding problems than the Ohio River after you agree to the lease. You may find that the landlord may not be so quick to address the problem. And Ken Griffey Jr. won't be around to save you!
What Things Do You Need?
The lack of apartment communities within Covedale's limits means you are most likely going to be dealing with an individual owner. A credit report and personal info should be prepared. Typically, one or two months' rent upfront is required. A deposit is needed to protect against damage from your wild Bengals football parties. Proof of income can also help make the process as smooth as Nick Lachey's hair. Does that make sense?
