Today, Seven Hills has almost 12,000 residents (as of the 2010 census) and shares in Cleveland's four seasons weather. Summers can be hot and humid and winters are cold and snowy. Area residents have lots of parks and recreational opportunities in town, no matter what the weather is like.
Interested in living in Seven Hills? You would be wise to begin your search early, as only five percent of the city's housing stock is occupied by renters. If you find something in town, you should move fast, as rental homes in Seven Hills go quickly. Occasionally, there are lease-option or rent-to-own homes available in town, and those are sold quickly as well. There are no large buildings with rental apartments in town. Almost all of the Seven Hills housing is single-family homes, although there are houses that have been converted to duplex properties, and condominiums were built in the northern part recently. Most of the homes have large yards; this is especially true in the southern end of town. A full 63 percent of the houses were built during the period after World War II, from the 1940s through the 1960s, and almost all the rest since then; only three percent were built prior to 1939.
The city boasts no real distinct neighborhoods, although it does have decent amenities and is connected via Broadview Road, on the western side of Seven Hills, which is one of two main north to south arteries. All of Seven Hills is close to Interstate 77, just a 15-minute commute to downtown Cleveland, and roughly 30 minutes to Akron.
With six parks and additional plans for the City Hall-area park, to make it the city's centerpiece, there are already baseball diamonds, a recreation center, and walking paths. The walking paths will be linked to the hiking and biking path along the Towpath Trail that runs south from Cleveland. The trail will be 101 miles long when completed. There are five other parks that offer tennis courts, basketball courts, walking paths, picnic areas, football fields, pavilions, and sand volleyball areas. With an area less than four square miles, there is a park near every home in Seven Hills.
When you move to Seven Hills, you will have access to the Community Recreation Center, which is one of the nicest and newest around. It has a beautiful and well-equipped Natatorium, a suspended walking track, aerobics room, Nautilus and cardio machines, free weights, gymnasiums, and child care areas. There are regularly scheduled fitness courses and sports leagues throughout the year, and rooms available for private gatherings, including around the pool areas.
The city does have public transportation available, and two percent of Seven Hills residents use it regularly, though a much larger percentage carpool or drive alone. Getting to just about anywhere around Cleveland is pretty easy with the proximity to Interstate 77, the major north-south freeway, and Interstate 480, which is an east-west route just south of Cleveland.
Seven Hills is a great small city and residents do not move away often -- so snap up any rentals you find quickly!
