Franklin Park Borough Center: Charming Sechlers Lake is located in this suburban neighborhood, as well as many shops, cafes and restaurants. You'll find the perfect single-family home for rent or townhomes here, primarily built between 1970 and the present. While a large number of homes are occupied by owners, you'll still find rental properties here, too.
So Many Parks, So Much Fun
Blueberry Hill Park is a prime spot in the community and includes an activity center, baseball fields, sand volleyball and a children's playground called the "Blueberry Patch." Youth football leagues play here, and there's a historic log home in the lower meadow. Linbrook Park offers 80 acres of land off of Big Sewickley Creek Road, with picnic spots, an obstacle course, a stream which offers excellent bird watching, two playgrounds and plenty of hiking trails. A feeling of being out in nature is the vibe of this spot, so bring your hiking shoes. Your family (and the squirrels) will love 25-acre Acorn Park with hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding trails. Not so keen on the wilderness idea? Then come to Old Orchard Park, where tennis and volleyball courts share space with a pristine one-mile-long developed walking trail.
Pine Creek and two bucolic ponds draw migrating birds and other wildlife to the Mel Lubert Nature Reserve, located in the northeastern portion of Franklin Park. Like "fore" play? Try the Clover Hill Golf Course, with nine holes open year round offering an oasis of green space.
