Living in Hellertown

If you enjoy dining out, Hellertown has a good number of options for a town of its size. Most local restaurants are dotted along Main Street, options include Italian, Hungarian, and fast food. There's no movie theater in town, but you'll find a cinema within a short drive on the Center Valley Parkway. You can also check out college sports events at nearby Lehigh University. The college's Stabler Arena holds performances including family friendly shows, in addition to sports events. The Zoellner Arts Center hosts a variety of arts events including visual arts, concerts, and dance recitals.

Hellertown has lots of places to play. Dimmick Park is the town's premier park, which recently underwent a $300,000 restoration. There are 5 baseball diamonds and a multi-purpose field, as well as a paved pathway for walkers. There's even a Pavilion with a kitchen and seating for about 150 people, which can be rented by the public. No alcohol on site, though, so leave the brews at home. If you're in need of some outdoor entertainment there's also a performance stage in the park with a summer concert series. Hellertown has an outdoor pool that's open in the summer months. Locals can even buy season passes.

There are no large grocery stores in Hellertown, but there is a small market and a convenience store on Main Street. There's a Giant just outside town if you head south on Leithsville Rd. If you're a locavore you can get food from the region at the Saucon Valley Farmer's Market. It runs weekly between May and November each year. You'll find the Farmer's Market at Water Street Park in Hellertown. In addition to delicious food you'll find free music and family activities.
