Despite its small size, Lehighton, Pennsylvania, has provided a home to some notable people. This includes professional skateboarder Kerry Getz, professional football player Robbie Frey, and artist Franz Kline.
Lehighton is a small community in Carbon County. Its 1.8 square miles of land provides a home to about 5500 residents, according to the 2010 Census. Lehighton is not at all a big-city destination, though residents find plenty of things to do and more than enough reasons to continue calling Lehighton home. For city fun, Philadelphia is a little less than 90 miles away and Allentown is just a 26-mile drive from town.
Moving to Lehighton
Landlords in this neck of the woods expect the same things as those in any other part of the country: payment when the first of the month comes around. Demonstrate that you're a good risk by showing up with proof of income and references, and make sure your credit report is as clear as possible. If you haven't always been a quick payer, have a co-signer at the ready.
Be upfront with landlords about your pets, if you have any. Smuggling Fang or Fido in just may be cause for eviction. Don't worry, though. Many landlords welcome pets as long as you agree to pay a pet deposit to cover potential damages. It's a small price to pay to avoid constantly hiding man's best friend from the maintenance man.
