Historic Downtown Carrollton: This is the center of the town, and it's full of history and culture. People think its cute and quaint here, and its therefore an idyllic place to live. Come here to get a real taste of Texas culture and to be in the hustle and bustle of somewhere thats not very hustle-bustley.

There is public transportation in the area: DART is Dallas transportation system (Dallas Area Rapid Transit). If you want to take a bus to Dallas, DART has one for you. There is also a train, called the Green Line, which will take you right into the big city. Prices are now down 3.1% year-over-year. The median rent in Carrollton fell by 0.3% over the course of November, and has now decreased by a total of 3.1% over the past 12 months. Carrollton’s rent growth over the past year has is similar to the state average (-2.7%) but has fallen below the national average (-0.6%).
Eleven months into the year, rents in Carrollton have risen 0.1%. This is a slower rate of growth compared to what the city was experiencing at this point last year: from January to November 2023 rents had increased 2.2%.
If we expand our view to the wider Dallas metro area, the median rent is $1,444 meaning that the median price in Carrollton ($1,580) is 9.4% greater than the price across the metro as a whole. Metro-wide annual rent growth stands at -3.0%, above the rate of rent growth within just the city.

"Carrollton renters expressed general satisfaction with the city overall," according to Apartment List. "They gave most categories above-average scores."
Key Findings in Carrollton include the following:
Carrollton renters gave their city an A overall.
The highest-rated categories for Carrollton were safety and low crime and state and local taxes, which both received A+ grades.
The areas of concern to Carrollton renters are social life (D) and public transit (B-).
Carrollton earned similar scores compared to other nearby cities like Garland (A) and Plano (A+), but earned higher marks than Fort Worth (B), Arlington (B+) and Dallas (B).
Carrollton did relatively well compared to cities nationwide, including Los Angeles (C+), Tucson (D) and Philadelphia (C+).
The top rated cities nationwide for renter satisfaction include Scottsdale, AZ, Irvine, CA, Boulder, CO and Ann Arbor, MI. The lowest rated cities include Tallahassee, FL, Stockton, CA, Dayton, OH, Detroit, MI and Newark, NJ.
