IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY, RUN!!! Management and honestly some residents at this apartment do not understand what it means to maintain a property. I wish I read the reviews before signing a lease at the Travis. It would have definitely changed my mind about signing a lease here. I was in a hurry to find a place in midtown and got sucked in by the excellent(turned out to be fake) customer service. Living at the Travis Houston for the past year has been a HUGE disappointment. It's NOT a luxury complex. I've seen several mid ride complexes that maintain their buildings a lot better. The amenities are a joke—none of them are properly maintained and some residents are just careless. I walked into the elevator one night and there was vomit all over the elevator floor, and no the other two elevators weren't working at the time so residents had to use the vomit elevator the entire night luckily it was gone by morning. The pool was out of service all summer. They blamed the hurricane in July and the city of Houston for shutting them down but other apartments had their pools function within days or weeks of the hurricane. I say they couldn't fix it that fast cause it wasn't maintained properly to begin with. Lounge was not functional, yet they continued to charge residents for amenities fee even though we couldn't use anything besides the gym (closes by 9pm btw). The elevators break down at least once a week. If you live on a really high floor, be ready to take the stairs. Don't worry you'll find other neighbors complaining while yall hike up to your floor. On top of that, several neighbors, including myself, have had issues with leaking ceilings that take a while to fix. The hallways especially on the higher floors are dirty, and stink cause the trash chute is always blocked. Management was super friendly before we signed the lease, but once they had our money, they completely changed. In my opinion, they’re only interested in collecting rent and refuse to address the countless maintenance problems. If you value your sanity, stay away from this place. I REPEAT...STAY AWAY. The only good thing about this complex is the location. Great restaurants around, easy access to the highway. Otherwise, mehhhh! My lease ends in a couple of weeks and I can't be more thankful to be done with this nightmare. If after reading all the reviews and you still decide to rent here, double check your rent payment to make sure you're being charged correctly and best of luck!
The maintenance is awful. Hallway is smelly ( stinks), door out to the garage on the 5th floor has not been fixed since we moved in, carpet stains
