What you'll need
When you're looking for apartments, you'll want to contact landlords or realtors about finding available properties. Be specific about your needs so that they can help you find exactly the right place. When you go to your appointments, show up on time so you make a good impression - first impressions do make a difference! Be sure to bring along all the paperwork that you'll need in order to get the application process rolling. This includes a copy of your ID, bank statements, credit report, pay stubs, letter of employment, references and rental application. Ask your landlord if there is any other paperwork that you'll need to bring along with you before you go. All of this will help make your leasing process go that much more smoothly. Oh and don't forget to bring along your checkbook! That way, if you see a place you really love, you can put a deposit down on it right away.
Pearsall is basically organized in a big square, and the four corners make up the different neighborhoods. Here's a little more info about each.
Northwest: This area is right off I-35. There are great restaurants here, like Cowpokes Bar-B-Q and Taqueria El Jimador. The area is comprised primarily of single-family homes, and you can find some rental units here at great prices.
Northeast: This area is pretty rural. You won't find too much here outside of small, single-family homes, Firemans Park and Pearsall Cemetery. On Route 581, there are a few fast food restaurants, but for the most part you'll have to drive a few minutes to find shops and restaurants.
Southeast: This is the area south of Colorado Street. It's super rural and then stretches off into the surrounding desert. Mi Casa Caf̩ is one of the only restaurants you'll find around here.
Southwest: Over here you'll find the Pearsall Sports Complex, which is a great place to watch sporting events or get a workout in. Rositas Barbacoa is also in this part of town.

It's only 55 minutes away, and while there you can venture up to wander around the River Walk, one of the city's most famed destinations. While there, you can also find dozens of amazing restaurants, little boutiques and big chain stores, and marvel at the beautiful river flowing through town. Or, if you're a sports fan, you can check out one of the big games while you're in town! There's no shortage of things to do in San Antonio, so whenever you feel like having a change in environment or just getting away, you may find yourself taking a short road trip.
