Like to drink wine? Fishersville might be just the place for you! The town is home to the Barren Ridge Vineyards, which won Best in Show at the 2009 Virginia State Fair. No more need to travel to Napa!
Fishersville, Virginia, is a small, Southern town just outside of the bigger city of Waynesboro. The town is home to only about 7,500 people, so it's a great way to experience the benefits of small-town, country living with easy access to bigger city amenities nearby. Fishersville does have an excellent vineyard in it, and people visit from all over the state to taste Barren Ridge Wines. However, there's more to the city than just drinking! The town is home to some historic sites, like the Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church, which has been in operation since the mid-1700s, as well as lots of lovely suburban homes. Choose Fisherville because it's quiet and historic, and enjoy its easy access to Waynesboro. There, you can enjoy beautiful natural sites like Rockfish Gap or historic spots like the Plumb House. Finding an apartment in Fishersville that accepts your pet may not be easy, but it’s very possible. Keep in mind, most of the time you’ll have to pay a premium for bringing your dog along in your new apartment. Some apartments require you to pay monthly pet rent, others will ask for a non-refundable pet fee or a refundable pet deposit.
While landlords and property management companies have varying pet policies, most of them limit the number of dogs you can bring to your apartment and include breed and weight restrictions.
If your pet falls under some of the restrictions outlined in the pet policy, it’s still worth asking the landlord if they can make an exception for your dog. Preparing a pet resume ahead of time could help you build the case for your furry friend. Make sure to include information on behavioral training your dog went through over the years and proof of vaccinations. If you can, include references from your former landlord and/or neighbors.
