Rice Lake is located in the beautiful Red Cedar River Valley. It has a population of nearly 8,500 people and even though it's not very big it is the largest community in Barron County, which means it also serves as a center for commerce, education, manufacturing, health and educational services.

The Ice Age trail is 36 miles long and that lets those that use it access the most dynamic glacial geology in Wisconsin. The Chippewa Moraine Ice Age Interpretive Center sits about a half hour south of Rice Lake. The Cedar Side Trail is a four mile walkway that runs along the Red Cedar River. It offers beautiful views to those who take advantage of it. The Blue Hills Trail System is 22 plus mile walking trail that is accessible during most of the year. Snowshoeing and cross country skiing are both widely popular activities in this area.
