A few different neighborhoods offer a variety of living situations in Oakdale.
City Center: The heart of town offers apartments and homes for rent, as well as easy access to the Stanislaus River, cafes, businesses and entertainment options. Older and historic homes mingle with more modern dwelling options with plenty of rental properties.
Valley Home / East Oakdale: The rural feel of this spacious neighborhood will draw you to its single-family homes and mobile homes, many of which were built between 1970 and the present.
Paulsell / Claribel: These medium and larger single-family homes in a grassy, open, rural enclave are mostly owner occupied, but you can find some rentals here with a little legwork. Homes are newer, built between 1970 and the present.
Gilbert Ave: This area includes Oak Valley Park for recreational activities and the Oak Valley Hospital, which offers well-regarded medical care for the community.
Just Say Cheese
Cheese-making history is respected in Oakdale. Oakdale Cheese and Specialties -- where the specialties include Gouda -- has been making cheese history for four generations. If you'd rather say cheese than take a tasty bite, there are plenty of photo opportunities as well as rafting, kayaking, boating, fishing, swimming and hiking along the lovely Stanislaus River, which is a part of this community.
