City Guide for Lecanto, FL

Did you know that Lecanto can credit its history to the sport of golf? Developer and visionary Stan Olsen came to Lecanto and loved the nearby coastline, sand hills, huge oak trees, and spring-fed rivers (and, of course, the sunshine) and decided to build a golf course and community called the Black Diamond Ranch. The town of Lecanto quickly grew into a world-class beachside community.

Lecanto's history is deeply entrenched in the sport of golf. And, yes, one of the best golf courses in the entire country is located in the town. However, Lecanto is about so much more than a sport. This town has a breathtaking coastline and pristine beaches. Lecanto is also known as a popular place to live if you plan to commute to Tampa or Orlando for work or play. If you're looking for apartment rentals in a town that feels like a relaxing vacation destination -- but also offers access to some of the world's most exciting amenities and cities whenever you want -- then Lecanto might be just the place for you. What to keep in mind when looking for dog friendly apartments in Lecanto, FL

Finding an apartment in Lecanto that accepts your pet may not be easy, but it’s very possible. Keep in mind, most of the time you’ll have to pay a premium for bringing your dog along in your new apartment. Some apartments require you to pay monthly pet rent, others will ask for a non-refundable pet fee or a refundable pet deposit.

While landlords and property management companies have varying pet policies, most of them limit the number of dogs you can bring to your apartment and include breed and weight restrictions.

If your pet falls under some of the restrictions outlined in the pet policy, it’s still worth asking the landlord if they can make an exception for your dog. Preparing a pet resume ahead of time could help you build the case for your furry friend. Make sure to include information on behavioral training your dog went through over the years and proof of vaccinations. If you can, include references from your former landlord and/or neighbors.
