Renovations were kind to 2781 Tupelo Street. Positioned on a corner lot in a quiet enclave of East Lake, the home itself was originally built in the 1940s, which means there is plenty of functionality… with just enough wiggle room for the types of mildly eccentric flourishes that make a space one-of-a-kind. Upstairs, a sitting area can pull rank as a home office, or perhaps a bedroom for someone of, say, high school age — it’s a bit on the small side, sure, but access across the landing to a dedicated full bath does lend more of a “private apartment” vibe (which, c’mon, when you were 15, would have been super cool). And with excellent access to surface streets. Memorial is only a block away and not much farther to Candler. But even skipping the main thoroughfares, locales that make East Lake so desirable — Oakhurst, Downtown Decatur — are walkable.
