Laid out by its founder, Sellersburg is irregularly platted. In fact, none of the town's original 42 lots have a right angle. Early historians described the layout as resembling an isosceles triangle squeezed at its base. At whatever angle you find it, Sellersburg is today an attractive small community.
Sellersburg is a located in Silver Creek Township, a part of Clark County, Indiana. With a growing population of 6,128 as of the 2010 census, the town is about 10 minutes north of the city of Louisville, KY.

You'll experience a full four seasons here, but winters in this part of Indiana are generally fairly mild. Blizzards are unlikely, for example. So you can look for a home virtually any time of year. When you do find the spot you want to call home, be sure you have the appropriate information that landlords have been known to request, such as ID, bank statements, W2s, and employment and rental history.
Neighborhoods in Sellersburg
With almost four square miles, the community of Sellersberg offers a number of peaceful, treelined neighborhoods. In general, residents have a commute to work between 15 and 30 minutes daily, and most take their own vehicles. Proximity to Interstate 65 makes driving to other locations easy.
Sellersburg Town Center: This suburban neighborhood has easy access to I-65, and a number of small and pretty ponds within its boundaries. Suburban in feel and density, this community offers single-family homes and mobile homes, as well as small apartment buildings. You can likely find an apt for rent here. Most homes were built between 1970 and the present. The vacancy rate is comparatively low at 6.3 percent.
Route 60/ W. Saint Joe Road: Bordered by Silver Creek, this suburban neighborhood offers housing such as single-family homes and townhomes. While many residences are owner occupied, you can find rentals with a little searching. Some homes are older, built between 1940 and 1969, although most were constructed after 1970.
Living in Sellersburg
Sellersburg is named for its founder, Moses Sellers, who established the town in 1846, and it was incorporated in 1890. Blacksmiths, mill operators, and purveyors of dry goods were the founding fathers of this small town. Wild fruits grew in the woods, and taverns were scarce: this was then and is now a settled, quiet community.
Golfers rejoice! In 1994, local PGA golfer Fuzzy Zoeller started the Covered Bridge Golf Club in Sellersburg, which he personally designed. Covered Bridge hosts a variety of pro/celebrity golf tournaments, raising funds for many local charities. The Wolf Challenge takes place here every year and draws a variety of celebrity players such as Bill Murray, Kevin Costner, and John Daly. Hidden Creek and the Speed Golf Course are also located in town, so don't forget to put your clubs in your moving van. All told, Sellersburg contains three golf courses, 19 restaurants, three hotels, and it is only a short drive from three movie theaters. Popular local dining spots include the Fireside Bar and Grill and Cricket's Cafe. There are a number of chain restaurants here too, located close to the highway.
Putting greens aren't the only green spaces in town; along with Wilkerson Park and Mosley Park in Sellersburg, Speed Park and Silver Creek Township Park are just outside town limits. There's a town pool, too, so you can definitely make a splash in your new town.
Like to fly? In the early 1980s the city opened Clark Regional Airport, a small facility designed to handle private aircraft.
The Ohio River and Charlestown State Park are two pleasant outdoor destinations for hikes and wildlife watching close to town.
Drive into Louisville, KY, and you can experience many city amenities, such as the 100-mile Louisville Loop Trail, the Louisville Zoo, or perhaps you'd enjoy exploring Louisville's Fourth Street Live, a destination for entertainment, dining, retail shopping, and concerts - and it's all less than 15 minutes away from the peaceful Sellersburg streets.
