Pacific, MO got its name from pretty interesting beginnings--it's where a new railroad began, with its destination being the Pacific Ocean!
Despite its name, Pacific, MO is nowhere close to an ocean. However, that doesn't mean it lacks a number of great reasons to live there. Pacific is a small city located in the Franklin and St. Louis counties in Missouri. The population is just over 7,000, making it a great size to live in. It was started in 1852, it was originally known as Franklin, but was renamed shortly thereafter once the railroad laid tracks in town. It borders the Pacific Palisades Conservation Area, which provides access to the beautiful Meramec River. The historic Union Pacific railroad runs through town, as does the well-known Route 66, commonly known as Main Street of America, so it's true that Pacific embodies the true spirit of the middle of America. Pacific is located in the eastern part of Missouri, with 5.92 square miles of land and 0.01 square miles of water.
Pack your bags and get ready for a great trip into the country's heartland! Only 30 miles from downtown Saint Louis, Pacific is an ideal location to live. With the combination of historic railroads and highways, it is a transportation hub that offers plenty of reasons to live, work, and play. The population has been growing steadily in recent years, so now is a good time to get in. There is a variety of rental housing and luxury apartments to choose from, including apartments with paid utilities. Also available are rental homes in Pacific, for those looking to settle down. Sizes start at 1 bedroom apartments for rent, all the way up to 4 and 5 bedroom apartments and single family homes.
Getting Started
There are no longer any dust bowls to escape from, but Route 66 will take you right through Pacific (believe it or not, that was one of the original uses of this famous highway). For those looking to rent an apartment, it is important to decide between city apartments and those in a more rural environment. It is best to keep a detailed wish list with all desired features in a home or rental apts. Finding the right place is much easier when you know exactly what you want. Visit the area supermarket and shops for flyers that have listings for purchase and rental. If all bills paid apartments are on the list, it might be helpful to get help from a realtor. A good real estate agent can help with all types of real estate, just make sure to find one who specializes in helping buyers or renters. The good listings move fast in Pacific, so be ready to make a quick decision or else it is possible to lose out. Finding an apartment to rent should not be too difficult, but be ready to compare a few places before making a final decision.
Signing on the Dotted Line
You don't need to be a real estate expert, but you should definitely know what you are signing before you put ink to paper. Once the right place has been identified, read through the paperwork carefully before signing any documents. This is where a good real estate agent comes in, since they are the expert and know what to look for. For rentals a deposit and first and last months rent will probably be needed, and for a purchase a down payment is required. But once all the details are covered and fees paid, it's time to move in. Make sure to do a tour of the entire city of Pacific to learn all about its charm.
