At just over 2.5 square miles in area, Pine Lake Park, part of Ocean County's Manchester Township, New Jersey, Pine Lake Park is nearly twice the size of Tokyo's Imperial Palace!
With stunning lakes, parks and preserved open spaces on the doorstep, and activities from skating to tennis, golf and horse-riding in the area, Pine Lake Park is a great place in which to live, work and bring up a family. Meanwhile, its population, at around 8,500, is getting on for nine times that of Antarctica in the winter. And a relatively youthful population, with an average age of 38, means most residents are younger than Neil Armstrong was when he landed on the moon. Pine Lake Park also has a predominantly well-educated population and lower than average levels of unemployment. Only around a fifth of households in the area are not families, while per capita income was more than 25% higher than the average city per capita income.
Moving to Pine Lake Park
If you're looking for housing for rent, whether you're looking for rental condos or any other kind of accommodations, there are various things you need to know before you start your hunt to find an apartment.
First off, we're not going to lie to you. Living in a place that's as great as Pine Lake Park does not come cheap. That's not least because a huge majority of around 85% own their own homes. Around 60% are heated with gas.
Because average house value is quite a lot higher than would be typical in most US cities, Pine Lake Park is also an expensive area in which to find a house for rent. Overwhelmingly, you'll find most places have three bedrooms, with properties at opposing ends of the scale (i.e. with one or five bedrooms) somewhat harder to find.
However, it should be by no means impossible to find an apartment or other kind of housing that you love. Equally, you'll find overwhelmingly that properties are single unit detached places, with not much in the way of blocks of apartments and the like.
If you're thinking of moving to Pine Lake Park, allow around a month to find somewhere you'll love to live. This minimizes stress, gives you enough time to see a number of different places and reduces the chances of making a wrong decision so that you wind up moving again shortly afterward.
And, of course, before you can move in, you'll need to be sure to have a month's rent ready in advance, along with a deposit, and evidence that you can fund your rental term and a summary of your history in rented accommodations. Other checks may also be carried out, including credit scores or background checks. Be prepared to be asked to produce documentation like bank statements, pay slips, references and proof of employment as well, even though you may not have to show them.
Neighborhoods
Being such a small place, Pink Lake Park doesn't have that much in the way of distinctive neighborhoods as such. Yet, as a place to live, it punches above its weight, and you'll find a great variety of accommodations here whether you're looking for duplex for rent or anything else.
You'll be able to choose, also, whether to stay in the thick of things, or take life more easily and quietly on the edge of town.
Living in Pine Lake Park
Pine Lake Park has a high proportion of two-vehicle households, with approaching 90% of residents happiest to travel with their own wheels alone. And the American Community Survey found that average commute time took longer than the median of 23 minutes, but not by all that much -- only by just over seven minutes. But with a relatively small surface area, it's still pretty easy to get around on foot or with local buses.
There are plenty of things to see and do locally, however you and your family like to spend your spare time. Nearby attractions for art buffs include the Montclair Museum, while if science and technology are more your thing, try the Morris or Newark Museums.
There's also a lively microbrewery scene, and some pretty neat restaurants. To work off the extra calories, enjoy a round of golf somewhere like the Somerset Hills Country Club.
You'll find this a pretty friendly area, as well, so you'll soon feel at home here, and enjoy having peaceful surroundings and extensive leisure and other facilities while still being within easy reach of the city so that you can commute in comfortably to work each day. Welcome to Pine Lake Park!
