The city is actually sometimes considered a neighborhood of the larger Merrick, but North Merrick residents get the privilege of having nearly nothing going on in their town, making it a great place to escape if you commute into the city. Let's face it: North Merrick is really tiny. Save for one park, a couple of stores and a racquet club, there's really not much to do there. That's okay, however, because many people here travel to NYC via the Long Island Railroad, and also, many people like to go the opposite direction and spend their entertainment hours in the Hamptons. So, if you're looking for quiet suburban living near one of the biggest and most-exciting cities on the planet, North Merrick is definitely a great spot for you.
