Finding your gold
We're looking at our crystal ball right now so we know that you're looking for excellent rental properties in Yukon, but we don't we need a crystal ball or any hocus pocus to help you find your digs. Learn what Yukon has to offer and uncover your treasure.
What'll you have?
Yukon's rental real estate market is a potpourri of houses of varying sizes, types, and age. Although three-bedroom single detached homes for rent dominates the different 'hoods, complexes are in the mix as well. If historic homes are your thing, you'll have to put more gusto into your hunt (Sorry, no mills-turned-residential-buildings or anything of that sort). Don't count on your house to whet your appetite for the yesteryears, but if you could settle for something from the 70's or newer, there's a lot of that here.
Who is living with you?
If your answer includes pets, this community will have you rejoicing. Landlords in Yukon City are typically warm toward your furry companion; some won't even bother with a pet deposit (What's a spacious yard for if you can't have canine or feline friends running around like they own the territory?). Pet friendly apartments are the default here, so bring Bow Wow and Meow--no one would mind.
On to the territories
Any gold hunter will tell you: hunting for value is a matter of looking for it in the right place. The same is true of your search for the perfect apartment. If you're not sure where to start looking, let this quick overview of the different neighborhoods in Yukon City guide you:
City Center: Residents in this part of Yukon City don't sweat it when it comes to commute because most people here spend only about 15 to 30 minutes getting to work. Also, if you're hunting for large homes with spacious yards and swimming pools as part of the package, get ready to compete for some premier apartments as all these fabulous amenities don't come easy. The Clarence E Page Municipal Airport is also close by.
N Piedmont Rd: Who's tired of buildings, concrete, and crowds? No need to raise your hand; you just need to know that this neighborhood could be your place of refuge after a long day at work. With Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge within the vicinity, there's plenty of space for you to withdraw from urban life and commune with nature.
N Mustang Rd/E Main St: Get ready with your luck, and possibly tons of patience, when you're looking for excellent places to live in Yukon City because the vacancy numbers aren't exactly in your favor. Should lady luck happen to be on your side, you will probably find yourself living in a three- or four-bedroom single detached home. (Yes, we're looking at our crystal ball again)
S Cornwell Dr/Dianna Dr: Residents here have everything they'll ever need right within the neighborhood. For those dying to play catch in the afternoon or get to work on that fitness regimen, Chisolm Trail Park is the perfect venue. Chisolm Shopping Center is also close by for residents to get some errands done or wallow in entertainment and shopping.
S Ranchwood Blvd/W Vandament Ave: This is a very walkable neighborhood with a wealth of established single detached homes (Think all-American homes with front lawns and white-picket fences). The problem? You'll fight tooth and nails to stake a claim on some territory here with the vacancy rate so meager.
S Cornwell Dr/W Vandament Ave: People who are racing against the clock to find studio-type or one bedroom apartments will be stacking the odds in their favor if they start the hunt in this neighborhood. Small- and medium-sized homes are quite the commodity here. Plus, with Kimbell Park and Yukon Hills Shopping Center nearby, shopping and recreation is just a short drive away.

No new comer will have a truly complete picture without touching on the quirks and charms of a city--which we also happen to think are just as important as the answering all the big questions about getting an apartment and where. After all, after you've landed that fabulous coveted apartment in your choice part of town, it's time to start exploring all this southwest town has to offer.

This city is big on festivals; locals will find every excuse to put on the festive spirit. To prove our point, there's the Czech Festival, Chisolm Trail Festival, and Festival of the Child, just to mention a few.
-
Yukon City has one of the most erratic weather patterns in the country. Temperatures can change quickly from day to day and tornadoes abound. As a safety rule, you need to know the nearest shelter in case a twister comes to visit and your house doesn't have those invincible storm cellars.
-
This city is just 22 minutes away from Oklahoma City. So whenever you feel the need to join the crowd at the Chesapeake Energy Arena and root for the Oklahoma Thunders, a drive down I-40 will get you there in no time.

Most residents get around town using their cars--they're practically married to those steering wheels. For those who want to go green or are lacking in funds, Metro Transit is a good second option (Note: second option is the operative word here).
Perfect for those looking for a charming suburban feel, but still looking for some healthy competition (someone has to produce the best flour), Yukon City has it all.
