Rental homes may be found either north or south of Sauerkraut Lane. Those looking for an apartment for rent will need to expand their rental search a bit beyond Ancient Oaks, to include the the town of Macungie and well as other areas in the immediate vicinity.

Just outside of the city limits, however, in Ancient Oaks outdoor activities are the rage. Within the subdivision limits one can find the Little Lehigh Creek, a tributary of the Lehigh River that flows eastward through the village. The creek is popular among residents for trout fishing and other water-related activities. In the northwest corner of Ancient Oaks, one can find the Ancient Oak West Recreation Area, featuring large open fields for sporting, picnic, and other social activities.
