"I was in Nashville, Tennessee last year. After the show I went to a Waffle House. I'm not proud of it, I was hungry [...] - Bill Hicks
Dayton was quite the hotspot of controversy back in 1925, over a century after it's 1820 formation. It's where the famous Scopes trial took place, and has been a booming center of forward-thinking ever since. It was also quite the gem back in the 1900s, becoming a manufacturing, industrial town, with centers for designing furniture, A / Cs and Heaters as well as auto parts. Oh, and let's not forget the nuclear power plants, but not to worry they are over 20 miles away, so there's no risk of growing a third leg or anything.
If you're planning on renting an apartment here, you will need your own transportation, since there isn't a public transport system here

Come Here to Find Your Dream Home
If you're planning on renting an apartment here, you will need your own transportation, since there isn't a public transport system here. If you want to view any apartments, you need your own ride (cab rides can get pretty expensive). Aside from some really beautiful apartments, you'll also find duplexes for rent, townhouses for rent and a few luxury apartments.
Best Time to Move
There are apartments popping up for rent at all seasons throughout the year. However, it can get a little hot here in the summer ( and not to mention, humid), so if you can't stand the heat and want to avoid the kitchen, start searching in the coolers months.
What You Need
Aside from dashingly good looks, you'll need documents to prove your employment or self-employment, income, current place of residence and character. Also, make sure to bring along an ID or Driver's License and the contact details of your references.
Lots to Do in Monkey Town
People are often drawn here for the beauty of the Tennessee River, but they stay for a multitude of reasons.
Drive and Shop
It's almost impossible to drive through the city without seeing a shop every few seconds, especially if you take the 29 freeway. There are a number of shopping centers through the center of the city which include Dayton Plaza Shopping Center and Northtown Plaza Shopping Center. These shopping centers contain all of the retail stores you're used to -- and most items are at a much lower price point than they are in northern states -- so yay for that.
Fast Food Galore
When I say fast food, I'm not just talking about McDonald's or Burger King, I mean this town is full of restaurants that dish out the meals pretty quickly. People here love dining on American fare, so there are quite a number of American restaurants in the area. A few worth mentioning are Jacob Myers Restaurant on the River. Kenny's Sports Bar and Grill and Fehn's 1891 House. Other restaurants worth dining at are Peking House Restaurant and Gondolier Italian Restaurant.
Natural Beauty
There are a lot of parks here, but most locals travel towards the Tennessee River for even better scenery. The places that attract the most visits are Nantahala National Forest, Armstrong Ferry Recreation Area and Zieglers Island Wildlife Refuge.
