Erwin is a town in Tennessee which is the county seat of Unicol. This town of 6,000 people is a part of the metropolitan region of Johnson City. In terms of the census, it falls in the Johnston-Kingston-Virginia tri-cities region. The town obtained its name by a mishap in the post. D. J. N. Ervin donated 15 acres of land on which the town was founded. An error in posting and mailing led to the renaming of the town as Erwin. The area has a population density of people per square mile. This makes it one of the most vivid towns in the state. It is bustling with activity, and life in the town center reflects all the allure of modern living.
A number of activities abound in the regions around Erwin especially in the Appalachian Trail. Erwin also presents a few challenges that one might want to take care of before moving.
