The city of Heath resides in both Rockwall and Kaufman Counties and encompasses 6.9 square miles of gorgeous rolling hills and valleys within the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex on Hwy 740. With 7,633 residents living right next to Lake Ray Hubbard, Heath is quickly growing into a thriving and vibrant destination for newcomers to the area. Heath was named after one of its earliest settlers, John O. Heath, who moved to the area back in 1846, but it would be just over a century before the city was finally incorporated in 1959. Since that time, the city began to concentrate on attracting businesses to the area, which has fostered steady economic growth ever since.
