Part of the greater Martinsville area with a total population of about 50,000, it's big enough to have a lot of the amenities of a larger city, yet it still maintains somewhat of a small-town feel. If you like watching cars race around in circles, Martinsville hosts NASCAR events.

Many historical sites dating back to before the Revolutionary War await the history buff in you.
