It's called Weston, and lies on the east side of the Wausau, Wisconsin metro area. Until 1905 it included Rib Mountain, which is to the west. It was called Eau Claire from 1856 until 1859, when the name was changed to Weston. Ironically, the present-day town of Eau Claire is about an hour's drive west.
The wooded plain where the Eau Claire River meets and flows into the Wisconsin River is where the suburbs of Wausau meet the open farmland and forest plots that are distinctive to this part of the Midwest. Here's where you will find the Village of Weston, with lots of green space, developed neighborhoods with a nice mix of housing, light industrial, and retail establishments. It's a land of continental weather extremes and all-American fun. From playing on the river to enjoying a great barbecue with friends or family, it's classic Americana. Just grab some apple pie or a hot dog and watch a baseball game! View Weston City Guide
Weston apartments with garages are sometimes more expensive than other options. However, they may make more financial sense in the long run.
Weather, break-ins, and daily struggles to find a space can take a toll financially and physically. Remember that even cities in mild climates experience issues like salt air, tornadoes, hail, falling branches from storms, and other issues.
It’s also possible to score an auto insurance reduction if you park in a garage. Ask your insurance provider about any deals or discounts that could trim money off the cost of your monthly bill.
Before signing a lease, ask the landlord or property manager about any restrictions on garage use. It’s important to know if there are enough spaces for tenants and visitors and what happens if the garage is full. If you’re moving into an apartment inside a home, ask about any conditions on its use and if storage is allowed.
