Sanger is a fairly small, relaxed town, but it makes a good place to live for all kinds of people. If nothing else, the glorious weather means the sky will be the only thing that's blue around here. However, Sanger does have a lot to offer. There's a good deal of gorgeous green space, plus a range of shops, restaurants and other amenities.

Renting in Sanger

Don't fret about finding an apartment or house in Sanger. There's a fairly large percentage of renter-occupied houses, which means it probably won't take you too long to find your ideal home. Allow around four weeks to find rental housing in Sanger, but maybe longer if you're picky and won't rest until you've found a home where every blade of grass in the lawn is the same length and the basement smells like buttered popcorn. You'll need all the usual suspects when finalizing the rental terms: your proof of income, credit report, precious rental history and any references. Generally speaking, to secure places to rent, you'll need to pay one month's rent upfront, then at least the equivalent of another month's rent as a security deposit, but this can vary.

Neighborhoods in Sanger

As the town only covers roughly five square miles, there's not a huge difference between Sanger's neighborhoods. However, you'll find rental housing may vary somewhat in size, age and type according to which neighborhood it's located in.

Centerville: This neighborhood is larger and more sparsely populated than others in the city. Homes are generally on the bigger side in this area, but it is further from most of the town's shops and amenities.

King's Canyon: Property in this neighborhood mainly consists of a mixture of small and medium-sized apartments and houses.

Town Center: This is the ideal neighborhood in which to find a home for rent if you want to be close to the majority of stores and restaurants.

Life in Sanger

While in might not be right in the heart of wine country, you can still grow a good grape in Sanger. If you're interested in wine or wine making, you might enjoy an excursion to the vineyards of Cedar View Winery. The town has a rich and interesting history, which you can learn all about at the Sanger Depot Museum.

If you love to shop, you won't be disappointed by the range of chain stores and independent shops. For the latest goods (the kind Cher would be jealous of), check out the Northgate Plaza shopping center.

If you want something a bit more outdoorsy, there are also six parks in the city with some great facilities, including basketball courts, walking trails and picnic areas. There's also a public skate park and aquatic complex, for those who like to be active.
