Sevierville has made literary history: Cormac McCarthy set much of his 1973 novel Child of God in the town and surrounding area.
Located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, Sevierville uses its picturesque locale to the town's best interest. Tourists flock to the area every year to hunt, fish in the Little Pigeon River or tackle the whitewater rapids of the French Broad River just north of town. Another feature that brings people to town every year is the Dollywood amusement park founded by native daughter Dolly Parton. For the roughly 15,000 who call this town home, however, there is plenty to do that keeps them occupied even when it's not "tourist season." View Sevierville City Guide
